The Templar is one of the two new troop options added with part two of the 1.5 patch update on April 2, 2013. The Templar becomes available at level 50.
Overview[]
The Templar has by far the best physical attack compared to any other troop. This is further enhanced by their "Soul Chop" ability which has a 50% chance to deal 170% physical damage to a single front row enemy. Knights can use the Templar in the back row especially if the Knight's damage mitigation is greater than the Templar's. While the Warlock's magic defense is better than the Templar's, Templars can shrug off magic damage if their health is upgraded although this remains the Templar's greatest weakness. For Mages and Archers, the Templar is perfect in the front row as damage absorbers.
